WiseCrowd combines the efficiencies of an online platform with an intimate knowledge of the GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) industry to connect business Clients with freelance professionals to fulfil their project or consulting requirements in a timely, transparent and cost-effective manner. Concurrently, GRC consultants benefit from an easy-to-use, fast and transparent platform and become part of a GRC professionals community.
The WiseCrowd platform is powered by a proprietary algorithm matching freelance professionals with the exact skills, experience, location and availability required to deliver solutions to businesses and organisations across the world. By displaying the best matched professional profiles as well as Client reviews, the platform cuts the turnaround time for engagement drastically.
With WiseCrowd we cut out the middle man in the recruitment process and give you direct access to top Clients looking for expertise in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
Additionally, you get a larger slice of the money you make by charging your Client for services rendered without having to pay agency fees. WiseCrowd only charges for transaction processing, everything else goes into your pocket! Great right?
You also get more control around your time by managing when you are available to work through your personalised calendar. This calendar automatically gets updated when you accept a project and can also be managed manually to allow you to specify when you are available to work. Additionally, if you want the flexibility of remote working you are able to specify this on your profile so that potential Clients know your preferences.
What kind of work can I get done? Anything within the remit of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) can be done through WiseCrowd. GRC includes a broad spectrum of professions such as internal audit, risk management and financial crime prevention.

The great thing about WiseCrowd is that we rely on experts. We conduct due diligence on all our users with third party verification service providers. We conduct due diligence to assure our Clients on the calibre and legitimacy of our Freelancer community. We also conduct due diligence on our all Clients to assure our Freelancer community that all our clients are legitimate and credit worthy.
Please refer to our Terms of Use page
Freelancers don’t pay a penny to join and can start taking advantage of our great benefits from day one. However, we do have membership plans that provide particular benefits at a small cost. For more details, please visit our membership plan section.
When we connect you to a job we charge the Client a 10% + VAT service fee, which is taken from the job value. This covers the cost of running the site and allows us to offer support before, during and after your job. In addition, we also may charge you fees for processing payments through bank accounts.
All WiseCrowd users are bound by the WiseCrowd Terms of Use, which outlines the terms that bind each member of our unique community.
However, this may not cover all eventualities so it is to the discretion of both the Freelancer and Client should they deem an additional set of terms and conditions need to be included in the contract. In this case, both parties agree the terms and it is the responsibility of the Client to include these in the contract.
If you find a job that you are interested in working on, we recommend the following:
Please note: A bid is an important first point of communication between you and the prospective Client. Make sure to take the time to review our tips for how to write a great bid.
You can perform any range of jobs specialising in key areas of Governance, Risk and Compliance e.g. Cybersecurity, Information Risk Management, Auditing, Corporate Governance, etc.
To ensure you can be found for that great job, you will need to be able to have a great profile that stands you out. For more information, see our section on what to include in your profile
You will also need to be updating your availability so that whenever your profile comes up in a search, it is clear if you are available for work or not.
Delivering top notch quality work also translates into happy customers and great reviews. For more information, see our section on how you are ranked.
Finally, you can also choose what details on your profile are public and what areas are private. This puts you in control over what is visible to other users on the WiseCrowd platform.
A great profile will win you more jobs! An informed, considered and ‘rich’ profile will better display you and your skills and will ultimately mean more Clients are interested in engaging with you.
These are our top tips :
The WiseCrowd way is really simple! You fill out a timesheet and submit, which the Client approves. This approval generates an invoice for your payment request and also generates an invoice on your behalf to the Client detailing your time worked and any additional fees from the Client’s use of our platform.
You can request payment as soon as the timesheet has been signed off by the Client. However, you only get paid once all funds have been cleared from the Client’s chosen payment method. The Client is bound by our terms of use to pay fully for all services rendered.
You are rated or ranked against an agreed contract with a Client that has been performed to an agreed standard and completed.
After job completion, your Client will rank you on a scale of 1 – 5 on the following:
It is important to note that a combination of all the reviews you receive create an average rating, which becomes part of your public profile.
Consistent positive feedback will put you above the crowd, which means that potential Clients may choose you over other Freelancers with a similar level of expertise.
No one likes to see disagreements, however they do happen. At WiseCrowd we take our professional relationships seriously.
When a dispute is raised, the WiseCrowd team will investigate both sides of the dispute and make a decision based on the audit trail available in our secure Workroom. When the resolution is in favour of the Client, you will be contacted and provided with an update on the actions required as part of the resolution.

A prerequisite to job completion is that the following have completed
Once all the above is completed, you as a Client are able to confirm the job as closed – and both parties (Freelancers and Clients) are able to rank each other based on their interactions throughout the project. For more information, please see our How do I get rated or ranked? section
Please note that in cases of an extension, you will have to create a new job that allows you to extend your job within a time frame that is acceptable to both yourself and your dedicated Freelancer.
You need to ensure you have sufficient funds prior to paying each invoice.
Step by Step Guide :
WiseCrowd recommends putting together an accurate brief and spending time on job planning prior to when the job starts. This will ensure that both you and your Freelancer understand the job requirements and there is a clear brief to work from.
We also suggest breaking down your job into clear deliverables that can be managed within the duration of the job.
Additionally, at the end of a job you will get a chance to review your experience with the Freelancer by providing a review on their expertise, quality of work, and timeliness of deliverables.
No one likes to see disagreements, however, they do happen. At WiseCrowd, we take our professional relationships very seriously.
When a dispute is raised, the WiseCrowd team will investigate both sides of the dispute and make a decision based on the audit trail available in our secure Workroom. When the resolution is in favour of the Client, the Freelancer will be contacted and provided with an update on the actions required as part of the resolution.
We regret to say that a project cannot be cancelled before the end date once contracts have been agreed. In the case of a dispute, please refer to our information on disputes.
Using our automated billing system, your Freelancer will bill you each week using our integrated timesheet functionality.
Once you review and approve each weekly timesheet (you have one week to do so), WiseCrowd automatically generates a corresponding invoice. The Freelancer will then request payment. You will need to manually release funds in the Workroom to pay the invoice by direct bank account or by PayPal, which can be set up ahead of the start of a job.
WiseCrowd accepts payment by PayPal or direct bank transfers. Any payments are subject to a small processing fee – please refer to our terms of use page.
